HATCH

In 2006, artists in Hamtramck, MI formed Hatch: A Hamtramck Art Collective, focusing on a mission of Education, Expression, & Exhibition. Hatch rapidly expanded and acquired a building in 2008. Over four years, renovations and fundraising transformed it into the Hatch Art Center. The Gallery opened in 2012, and the center offers studios, a classroom, darkroom, workshop, and installation spaces. In 2016, Hatch acquired Hamtramck Disneyland, preserving and enhancing the folk-art site. Today, Hatch thrives as a community-focused institution, welcoming all to join their journey.I juggle various roles at Hatch, from crafting promotional materials (both print and web) to handling social media across platforms like Facebook and Instagram. I have a studio on the second floor, and typically maintain Sunday Gallery hours.

SVSU

The Saginaw Valley State University Art Gallery is a vibrant space that showcases a diverse array of artistic expressions, featuring works by both emerging and established artists. Located within the Arbury Fine Arts Center on the main campus, this gallery serves as a platform for thought-provoking exhibitions, educational opportunities, and community engagement. With a commitment to fostering creativity and cultural enrichment, it presents compelling visual experiences that captivate visitors and stimulate artistic dialogue.I served as the University Art Gallery Coordinator from 2016 to 2020. Key responsibilities during this period included:

  • Developing print and web graphics for the UAG and Art Department autonomously.

  • Coordinating with the university's graphic designer, print shop, and mail room to produce and distribute promotional materials.

  • Spearheading website management and overseeing social media, including the inception of the UAG Instagram account.

NOTE:
I was unable to keep copies of the postcards and other ephemera I had designed for this role, but some of my designs and website layouts still exist on SVSU related platforms.

Various postcard designs turned into banners for the website's layout.
